NeptuneLabs FSI Showcase Add-on integrates a resizable scroll pane into FSI Viewer displaying automatically generated thumbnails of multiple high resolution images. Clicking a thumbnail displays the image in FSI Viewer offering the possibility to explore the image in all it's details. This way hundreds of high resolution images can be easily presented to your web visitors using a single viewer instance only. As FSI Showcase Add-on automatically requests the required thumbnail images from single source imaging servers authoring a showcase is nothing more than listing up the images you want to be presented with FSI Showcase. The image lists can either be manually defined or requested from a server. eRez Imaging Server has a built in support for image lists based on an image directory or a database query.
By presenting the same image with different image section parameters you can use FSI Showcase Add-on to create product tours presenting image areas of special interest with corresponding thumbnails.
Description
Most innovative viewers on the internet require special browser plug-ins that the user is forced to download and install. This is why the penetration of most of these viewers is comparably low. FSI Viewer on the other hand is based on the most popular browser plug-in worldwide, the Macromedia Flash™ plug-in. The penetration of the Flash plug-in exceeds 97% of all internet users in Europe, USA, Canada and Asia (source: Macromedia Inc.). The default setup of the most popular browsers already contains the Flash plug-in.
Integrating FSI Showcase into web pages is as easy as integrating a standard Flash movie into a HTML page. This is why FSI Showcase is compatible to almost every content management system currently available. Additionally using databases and server-side scripts to manage huge amounts of images with FSI Showcase is very easy.

Easy to use
The self explaining user interface of the viewer with tool tips for each interface element enables even inexperienced users to unfold the functionality of FSI Showcase within seconds. The viewer constantly reacts on user input and the progress bar informs the user about the current load progress of image details.

Moving the mouse inside the image area, the user can select an image section to magnify, rotate or pan the image depending on the selected mouse mode. The integrated survey window provides an overview and displays the image section currently viewed.
Flexibility
FSI Showcase Add-on offers a wide range of parameters to customize the layout and appearence of the add-on to perfectly match the design of your website or custom FSI Skin. Additionally you can add multi-line text labels to thumbnails, specify hover and selected states and present predefined image sections in the thumbnails. Of course FSI Showcase has a built in support for virtual 3D presentations so that you can present 2D and 3D images in a single Showcase instance. As FSI Showcase Add-on seamlessly integrates into FSI Viewer you can combine the add-on with all FSI Skins and FSI Plug-ins available for FSI Viewer.
Multilingual
FSI Showcase has been designed for use with different user interface languages. Languages packs can be included at runtime just like FSI plug-ins.

Scalability
FSI Showcase and Dynamic Imaging Servers are highly scalable. This allows using FSI Showcase with large amounts of images even in high load environments, like in an online shop with thousands of images. For high load environments, NeptuneLabs ZoomCache Application extends the scalability of Imaging Servers even more. As FSI Showcase loads image thumbnails and configuration files dynamically on demand, FSI Showcases may contain hundreds of high resolution images.

Function
FSI Viewer is based on Macromedia Flash™ Plug-in client-side and accesses image data provided by single source imaging servers. These servers (e.g. eRez Imaging Server or iseemedia Image Server) provide scaled and compressed image data on-demand based on high resolution source images.
ZoomCache provides disk caching for image data provided by Single Source Imaging servers. Using ZoomCache reduces server load especially regarding highly frequented websites and is optimized to provide image data for FSI products like FSI Viewer and FSI Showcase.
